Reproductive Justice Program

Comprehensive Reproductive Healthcare and Reproductive Justice

In rural Kakamega, patriarchal systems and cultural stigma have long decided what women and girls are allowed to know about their own bodies.

We bring evidence-based, stigma-free SRHR information directly into communities designed with and for the young mothers, women, and girls who need it most.

Her Choice Program exists to change that unapologetically. We strengthen advocacy on adolescent and young women's sexual and reproductive health rights, creating an enabling environment where women and girls are empowered to take initiative, make informed choices, and challenge the socialization processes that have enforced flawed masculinities, bodily control, and reproductive silence for generations.

Our Approach

Community Safe Spaces

Women and girls engage in open, honest conversations about bodily autonomy, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, contraception, healthy relationships, and reproductive justice. These are not clinical sessions. They are spaces where a woman is finally given permission to understand her own world on her own terms.

Capacity Building

Training community health volunteers, pharmaceutical technologists, and SRHR champions in evidence-based information delivery, non-judgmental care, and safe referral pathways.

Safe Referral & Linkage mechanisms

Ensuring that every woman who needs a service can access one without fear, without judgment, and without navigating a system designed to exclude her.

Engaging Gatekeepers

Community dialogues and sensitization forums with opinion leaders, elders, decision-makers, and the police hold power accountable to the women it has long failed.

“A trained champion stood before community elders at a baraza and spoke openly about reproductive health and justice and was met not with rejection, but with curiosity. With people finally ready to listen.”
